Felix Auger-Aliassime confident he will continue his strong form once tennis returns

Rising Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime, 19, admits it's not easy being in such an uncertain situation but he insists it won't affect his motivation.

The ATP initially suspended the season on March 12 due to the coronavirus outbreak and there won't be any tennis events taking place until at least July 13.

The belief is that the season suspension will once again get extended and some players fear the whole season will eventually get called off.

"For sure there are questions and uncertainties. However, I have a training plan in place and I stick with that. I am trying to stay in something that has worked for me so far. I don't need to seek my motivation," Auger-Aliassime said, per We Love Tennis France.

"The hardest part is looking at the calendar and seeing all the canceled tournaments. I am young and I will have time to recover despite the stop."

In February, Auger-Aliassime made back-to-back ATP finals in Rotterdam and Marseille but on both occasions failed to lift his maiden ATP title.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked at No. 20 in the world, has already made five ATP finals but he hasn't yet won an ATP title.

"Having played well before this forced break gives me confidence for the future. That's why I continue to keep myself in shape," Auger-Aliassime said.

"I think I will be able to continue this momentum, be competitive and make more finals to try to win my first title. I have no doubt that when I return, I will still have chances to do well."
