Novak Djokovic hopes to have fans, WTA players, tennis legends at Adria Tour

Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic hopes fans will be allowed to attend the Adria Tour and underlines the Tour will strictly follow the rules and guidelines issued by the authorities. 

Last week, world No. 1 Djokovic returned to Serbia after two months spent in Marbella and announced the plans to host the Adria Tour from June 13 - July 5. 

Djokovic's plans is to stage the Adria Tour across four Balkan countries -- Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia -- and bring some of the biggest names of the game to the Tour. 

Back-to-back French Open runner-up Dominic Thiem, world No. 7 Alexander Zverev and 2017 Nitto ATP Finals Grigor Dimitrov have confirmed their participation on the Adria Tour. 

"I hope by the June 13 the regulations will be changed and we will have fans. We have to follow the rules issued by the authorities. It's a 100 percent certain thing that Belgrade and Zadar will be one of the host cities for the Adria Tour. The locations for Bosnia and Montenegro haven't been confirmed. Personally, I want us to play there (Bosnia and Montenegro) but because of the late start of the organization, those two locations aren't certain but we are working on them," Djokovic said, per Sport Klub.

"We are working together with the local federations, which will organize youth tournaments and tournaments for the lower-ranked players -- the winners will play with us over the weekend. 

"We are exploring the possibility of hosting women's matches. We don't have enough resources and people to organize the similar Tour for the women. Besides, our desire is play doubles, mixed doubles, doubles with legends of the game such as Goran Ivanisevic. The ITF isn't allowing doubles to return yet but we will see."
