Rafael Nadal picks between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Born in Mallorca, Rafael Nadal immediately became passionate about football and tennis. However, he chose tennis as his main sport and won his first tennis tournament when he was only 8 years old, competing against stronger and more mature boys. So he improved the use of his left hand for the forehand, which led him to win both national and European tournaments. Even then, that little kid inside of him was always a fan of football.

His uncle, Miguel Nadal was a professional footballer. He played for their greatest rivals, Football Club Barcelona and also for the Spanish national team. However, Nadal absolutely loves Real Madrid. He is a fan who is engrossed in the journey of the football club. You will see him at the Santiago Bernabeu cheering the club, when he isn’t playing tennis.

During an interview with TNT, the former World number 1 believed that while Lionel Messi will be the best for Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo will be the best for Real Madrid. “Messi is better than Cristiano for Barca and Cristiano is better than Messi for Real Madrid. We have to enjoy who probably are the best two players in the world and it is very fortunate that we have them in “La Liga”.

I, as a Real Madrid fan, enjoy seeing Messi, even though he is not in my team, and being lucky enough to see him every weekend, as it must be for Barcelona fans with Cristiano, but obviously I’d like to have Messi in Madrid”.
