Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Djokovic linked with Lord of the Rings roles
Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and more top tennis players were matched with Lord of the Rings characters by Alonso Chicha Delgado, a Mexican tennis player who is also a digital designer.
Federer was matched with no one else than Gandalf, the wise wizard and the leader of the Fellowship of the Ring. He is one of the protagonists of the movie and the reason behind linking Roger with him is quite obvious since the Swiss Maestro is one of the oldest players on the tour, but still one of the strongest opponents.
A bit more misplaced match is the one between Rafael Nadal and Frodo Baggins, the hobbit from the Shire who takes the mission to destroy the One Ring, setting off to Mordor. However, Frodo is one of the most courageous characters and he almost never backs down, so that is probably why the link between him and the current world number two makes sense.
Regarding Novak Djokovic, Alonso Delgado thought that the best fit for him is Aragorn, one of the main protagonists of The Lord of the Rings. Aragorn is a skillful warrior and he even becomes the ruler of Gondor and Arnor, the kingdom which comes to dominate the history of the Third Age. The link explains because Djokovic is currently the “king” of the ATP Tour.
The other players portrayed in the design are Alexander Zverev as Legolas, Dominic Thiem as Galadriel, Daniil Medvedev as Thranduil (the king of elves) and Fabio Fognini as Bard the Bowman. Now, some of these comparations are obvious since Zverev is tall and blonde as Legoals, Medvedev has an impressive height as well (so do the elves), and Fabio has the reckless daring personality of Bard. All in all, the comparations between the top ATP players and the Lord of the Rings characters was on point. What do you think?
