Isner expresses anger at the riots sweeping across the US after Minneapolis events

American tennis player John Isner has expressed his anger at the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis and also the subsequent riots that have spread across the country in a message on social media. Isner took to Twitter to say that rioters should be arrested for damaging and looting buildings as they were going about the protests the wrong way. While many on Twitter had criticized for his comments on the same, the American player corrected them saying that he had already expressed his support for the movement against police brutality, adding that he thought riots were not helping the cause and that they dishonoured the victims of ‘brutality’.

You have it all wrong. I’m not angrier about this than the death of Floyd and Arbery. I’m angry that these riots are dishonoring those men and the men and women before them that have been victims of awful brutality. Shouldn’t be that hard to understand

Over the past few days, several tennis players such as Serena Williams, Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios amongst others have taken to social media to speak out against the killing of George Floyd. American Frances Tiafoe posted a video on his social media featuring several African-American tennis players, including Serena, Gauff, Zina Garrison, Lori McNeil, Malivai Washington, Sloane Stephens and Chanda Rubin as well as others such as Osaka, Heather Watson, Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
