Cincinnati Entry List: without Roger Federer but with Rafael Nadal

It was a very special 2020 for the world of sport and in particular for the world of tennis. Because of this very serious pandemic, many things have changed, we have seen our dynamics of life revolutionized and despite this, even today, there are thousands of infections or even millions of infections all over the world.

Because of this health emergency, tennis has been stopped for months, roughly since that damned March that stopped the lives of many people and that blocked all of us. Tennis has been stopped for months and the tennis players have found themselves facing a particular year with a forced stop and several months of abstinence.

Fortunately it should be recovering in less than a month and after the cancellation of the Atp 500 in Washington it should start again from the Masters 1000 of Cincinnati, a tournament that will exceptionally take place in New York (only for this year and due to Pandemic) which will start on August 21st. As we know the Cincinnati ATP Msters 1000 will be played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and not in Ohio, to centralize the American Summer tournaments in only a city: New York.

Western and Southern Open Entry List

In this tournament there will be no Roger Federer: the Swiss champion, currently number 4 in the world, is in the box due to a double surgery and will not play tournaments for the rest of 2020. Journalist Danny Miche has published, through his social accounts, an Entry List with those who should participate in the tournament and beyond the statements of some tennis players who seemed reluctant to participate in America, it seems that there will be almost everyone.

There is no official confirmation but the Top Ten expected, in Cincinnati there will be all but Roger Federer and Gael Monfils. Among the Top 20 will also miss the Italian Fabio Fognini, currently injured and the Swiss Stan Wawrinka. For Monfils and Wawrinka the real reasons for the absence in America are not known, but everything suggests that their flat rate is due to the restrictive health measures of the bubble expected in the United States and the possible evolution of the Pandemic.

The French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will also be missing. There are no real officials and among the big names there is great curiosity about Rafael Nadal's decision: the Spaniard has repeatedly declared himself doubtful about his participation in the American tour. Here is the partial entry list of those who should participate in the Cincinnati Masters 1000:
