A few days ago, Djokovic confirmed that he would travel to New York to compete in the Western & Southern Open and the US Open in New York. The Western & Southern Open starts on August 22nd while the US Open begins on 31st August. Djokovic will be aiming to win his 18th Grand Slam singles title in New York and close the gap on Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the race for most number of Grand Slam singles titles. Federer currently has 20 Grand Slam singles titles and will not be in New York due to his knee injury. Defending champion Rafael Nadal, of Spain, has decided not to travel to New York due to concerns about travelling amidst the current health situation.

I am happy to confirm that I will participate at @cincytennis and @usopen this year. It was not an easy decision to make with all the obstacles and challenges on many sides, but the prospect of competing again makes me really excited.
