Roger Federer sings and dances on Beatles’ song “With a Little Help From My Friends”

Roger Federer transformed into a pop star for a new commercial spot he shot for Sunrise We, a telecommunications company in Switzerland. Federer sang the Beatles’ song “With a Little Help From My Friends” along with a group of other vocal interpreters, and his performance triggered waves of excitement among his fans.

Roger Federer: “It’s always weird to hear my own voice”

After the commercial had been released, Federer was interviewed by 20min in regard to the Sunrise spot he shot and his singing performance. The Swiss Maestro admitted that it was a challenge.

“I really had to overcome myself, but it made it a lot easier to sing along in a group because I knew that my voice wouldn’t be heard that much next to the many super voices,” said Roger during the interview.

Even though he was accompanied by other singers, Federer was still a little disturbed by the sound of his voice. 

 “Even though I’ve done so many interviews, it’s always weird to hear my own voice. I was told it didn’t have to sound perfect, which of course helped a lot. They also gave me the great tip to almost speak the text instead of actually singing it. Luckily, I also had professional tutoring from a vocal coach on the morning of the shoot,” Roger Federer pointed out.

Moreover, Federer managed to slide a little joke after he had heard himself soloing a few lyrics of the Beatles’ “With a Little Help From My Friends”.  “I honestly don’t think I’ll be getting calls for a record deal anytime soon. But of course, I hope that the others in the clip will get a call because they were really fantastic,” Roger added in a very kind manner

Roger Federer ended his interview with a smile after enunciating the beautiful message that made him love the Sunrise commercial: “A community with family and friends makes everything better.”
