Pat Cash: 'Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic are not satisfied with..'

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are the most accomplished players in tennis history, or at least in the Open era. Three great rivals have won 57 Major titles since Wimbledon 2003, pushing each other for over 15 years and forging the most significant rivalries that our sport has ever seen. Despite everything they have achieved, Roger, Rafa and Novak are still doing their best to pass the rivals in the GOAT race and finish at the top, eager to extend their careers and fight for notable titles at least for a couple more years. The 1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash praised three legends and their will to push the boundaries after securing the immortal status and their place among the tennis giants. The Aussie claimed one Major title and the Davis Cup crown, feeling happy about his career and comparing that to Federer's, Nadal's and Djokovic's massive Major tally. After the 2020 season, three Major titles separate the 'Big 3'.

The GOAT race is more intense than ever, with Nadal catching Federer at Roland Garros and Djokovic winning the Australian Open to remain on their trail. Federer's last Major title came at the Australian Open 2018, missing his chances at Wimbledon a year later and allowing Rafa to catch him with an excellent performance in the last couple of years. Federer experienced two knee surgeries in 2020, playing only one tournament and hoping for a fresh start next year, still eager to fight for the notable titles. For the first time, Nadal is on level terms with Federer when we talk about the Major trophies, securing the 20th at Roland Garros following an incredible performance and seven straight-sets wins at 34.

Pat Cash praised Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic has been the player to beat in the previous ten years, reducing the gap to Federer and Nadal and securing the 17th Major title at the Australian Open. Entering the US Open without losing a match in 2020, Novak was the favorite to add another Major crown to his collection but made a big mistake against Pablo Carreno Busta, getting defaulted for the first time in a career. Novak reached the Roland Garros final where Rafa proved to be too strong, scoring a 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 victory to catch Roger and keep Novak three titles behind him.

"It is unimaginable that these guys have won 20, 20 and 17 Majors. There is something that motivates the three of them, and it's fascinating. I was happy to win a Major title and the Davis Cup; I had a great career. On the other hand, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are not happy with 20 Major crowns," Pat Cash said.
