The news is of the last hours and can give hope to millions of fans, Roger Federer could leave Doha. The Swiss, after training in Dubai with Ljubicic in December, would have the goal of the Doha tournament for his return to the field. The news comes directly from Richard Krajicek, director of the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, who said: “As far as I know, Roger will play in Doha the week after Rotterdam. If he is ready and in a position to play, however, only he can tell us”. After rumors of an early withdrawal, fans can breathe a sigh of relief. The Swiss maestro is getting closer to returning to the field. March will probably be the right time. The ATP has in fact scheduled eight events and one of these may be the good one. After more than twelve months and the last semifinal played at the Australian Open 2020, the Swiss could take part in the tournaments in Dubai and Doha. If his physical conditions allow him, he could join Nadal at the start of the tournament in Rotterdam. Director Krajicek hopes to bring Roger back to Holland, a place that brings back fond memories to the Swiss. Federer has triumphed there three times: the first in 2005, the second in 2008 and the third time in 2018. The latter allowed him for the last time to return to first place in the world at the age of 36.

Providing a better insight, the Swiss superstar said, “You can’t have a career as long as I have unless you stay active. On the court, you see me do my tennis thing for 20 years. But off the court, I’m chasing my kids around every single day. But it’s an active life I’m leading, I think a healthy life. Those clothes got to be light and comfortable, simple. I love to put it on and it feels perfect right away.” In the last season, Roger ended his season early after his semi-final exit at the Australian Open. He then underwent surgery for the second time on his knee during his career. The tennis season halted too due to the coronavirus pandemic.
