Belinda Bencic welcomed in Switzerland like a star after Tokyo 2021!

Belinda Bencic managed to win two important medals for Switzerland at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. The player born in 1997 played an impeccable tournament in the women's singles and in the final for the first and second place she freed herself in three sets of Marketa Vondrousova.

Bencic then tried to win the gold medal also in the women's doubles tournament together with Viktorija Golubic, but after a very hard-fought first set she had to give in and settle for the second step of the podium.

Winning the gold medal in doubles were Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova. After the incredible Olympic experience, Bencic returned to Switzerland and was welcomed like a real star by her countrywomen and countrymen. We have to recall that in her career she won 5 title in 13 finals played.
