Dominic Thiem: Football is my passion, I hardly miss a Chelsea FC match
Tennis isn't the only thing Austrian tennis ace Dominic Thiem is passionate about.
When not on the tennis court, the 24-year-old enjoys watching and playing football.
The Austrian, ranked at No. 8 in the world, is known as a big supporter of Chelsea Football Club.
"Football is my passion. I watch as many matches as possible in the European top leagues, I hardly miss a Chelsea match," Thiem told Salzburger Nachrichten, as revealed by Twitter user De Nela.
Thiem is happy to see an Austrian club doing great in an European competition.
Football Club Red Bull Salzburg have been dominant in the Europa League so far this campaign.
Salzburg sit on top of Group B with 15 points as they are 5-0 in the competition this season.
They have one more match of the group phase before they enter the Europa League round-of-32.
Salzburg haven't been lacking good results in the Austrian Bundesliga as well.
Salzburg are comfortably holding the No. 1 place in the home competition as they have collected 41 points in just 15 matches played.
The second-placed LASK Linz are behind 12 points as they have earned 29 points so far this campaign.
"It's unbelievable and the best thing that can happen to Austrian football. Salzburg is the flagship club," French Open runner-up Thiem said of Red Bull Salzburg.
