Kafelnikov: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic are boring

The vice-president of the Russian tennis federation Yevgeny Kafelnikov, a former world No. 1 and a two-time Grand Slam winner, criticized the Big three. In a recent interview to a Russian TV channel, Kafelnikov said: 'Federer is boring. He has all his routines with the hand. Nadal - very boring. Djokovic, for me, boring too. And Federer is boring. Around him there are no hot stories, just like in a Swiss bank. He is Swiss as well and he has everything on a plate.'

Kafelnikov, who won the gold medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and helped Russia win the Davis Cup in 2002, also spoke about his relationship with the five-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova: 'We do not communicate with each other at all. My father spoke with Sharapova's father before he left, it was important for her to get a letter from him, a paper with a text that would help when she was four or five years. She refused. It pissed me off. I gave her rackets, I had played tennis with her until she left. We communicated with each other normally. Then not anymore. Everyone has been aware for a long time that she was not Russian. A person who has an American passport for a lot of years, who lives in America and thinks in an American way.'

Sharapova is known to be quite reticient with her fellow players on the Tour and is often thought to be as rude.
