Laver Cup secures another big partner in Credit Suisse
After very successful first two editions in Prague and Chicago, the Laver Cup will be held for the third time in Geneva between September 20-22 at the beautiful Palexpo convention center. Besides Roger Federer, the organizers will try to bring the world's finest players from Europe and the rest of the globe in what should be a festival of tennis in front of the packed crowd. On Tuesday, the organizers have announced another big partner who will join the Laver Cup for the next five years, with Credit Suisse becoming a global sponsor of the event.
Thus, Credit Suisse joins founding partner Rolex and another global sponsor Mercedes-Benz, continuing to support new initiatives in sport and securing the place alongside other important partners of this newly-established tennis event that has been drawing a lot of attention ever since it was announced. Back in September, Team Europe managed to defend the title they won a year ago, with a 13-8 win over Team World thanks to Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev who delivered hard-fought wins against Kevin Anderson and John Isner to keep the title on the Old Continent.
“I’m delighted to welcome Credit Suisse to the Laver Cup,” Tony Godsick, Laver Cup Chairman and CEO of TEAM8 said. “The event has been embraced by fans worldwide since it began two years ago. It’s the perfect time for Credit Suisse to join us as we bring the Laver Cup to the heart of Europe. We are proud to collaborate with Credit Suisse, a leading wealth manager recognized for its outstanding connections to entrepreneurs, businesses and communities.”
“We are delighted to become a Global Sponsor of the Laver Cup,” said Tidjane Thiam, Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse Group. “Credit Suisse is the bank for entrepreneurs. We have always distinguished ourselves by supporting innovative, high-impact initiatives. It was therefore a logical decision for us to support the Laver Cup, a truly pioneering endeavor aimed at celebrating the game of tennis and its heroes, along with a commitment to inspiring future generations of players.”
