'Murray needs to be inspired by Roger Federer, Nadal, Djokovic' - McEnroe

In an interview to The Daily Mail, the seven-time Grand Slam winner John McEnroe commented on Andy Murray's attempt to comdback at the highest level. Murray is currently training hard in Miami and he plans to compete at the Brisbane International late this month. McEnroe compared Murray to Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic who all had success lately after going through injuries.

Ahead of his last Senior Tour event at the Royal Albert Hall in London this weekend, McEnroe said: 'He was able to be one of the best players of the last 10 years and winning majors by his athletic ability. If he's at 100 per cent or close to it I would expect he would be in the top 10 within six to nine months. But if he's at 80 per cent, that's a totally different person. Looking at what Federer did at 36, looking at Nadal. Djokovic suddenly was the old Djokovic this year, so I'm sure he looks at those guys and thinks: 'I should be able to do something akin to that'. I’m sure Andy looks at those three and says: ‘I should be able to do something akin to what they’ve done’. At least come back to sort of what he was before. If he does that, if you look at the top five, it’s not as if he can’t look at those players and think on a given day at Wimbledon that he couldn’t go the distance potentially.'
