Next Generation can't breakthrough because of Federer, Nadal - Expert

The former tennis player and current ESPN analyst Javier Frana spoke to ADN Radio about the chances of the next generation to overcome the "Big Three". Frana admitted that it takes a process. 'It's very difficult that someone being world no. 40 or 50 gets in the top 10 over a night, since it requires time and preparation. Also, for the new generation it's complicated because they play with many experiences player's. Then reaching the final stages becomes tougher, and when they get, they usually face Djokovic, Federer or Nadal.'

On the players' longevity, Frana added: 'There are several reasons, not just one. Players prepare differently physically and they inspired each other to keep playing longer and at a high level. Many times the tennis players drop and then they comeback to stand out among the best guys. Now you have a lot of benefits for them, like the same racquets, balls and surfaces that help their games much more.'

On Christian Garin and Nicolas Jarry's potential, Frana added: 'You dont have to be afraid if Garin made a very fast or very slow (breakthrough). In tennis, you do not have to get worried if a player takes his time and in this case, it's a tennis player who has great conditions and potential, so he will definitely take a step forward. In Jarry's case, he also has very big potential and he has a very modern physical strength and gamestyle which allows him to have very high ambitions. You have to take little-by-little.'
