Rafael Nadal's forehand has wrong technique, says Kuznetsova

In a recent interview, as quoted by Championat, former Grand Slam winner Svetlana Kuznetsova shared an interesting opinion on the Rafael Nadal's forehand. This is probably the best shot in the Spanish player's game, but it requires a lot of strength. 'In Russia, everyone is obsessed with technology, but it's not about it,' said Kuznetsova. 'You can have a perfect technique, like Federer, and you can have Rafael Nadal's technique - for me, his forehand is generally wrong. However, if you are able to fight and you have the right mentality, you can hit clearly regardless of technique.'

The four-set loss at the US Open against Rafael Nadal was a turning point for Karen Khachanov. The Russian player understood that he could compete at the highest level and in a recent interview, he thanked Nadal for the good words the Spaniard had spoken about him. 'It's nice to hear these words,' Khachanov said. 'He is always friendly and polite. It's always bad to lose but I think that match can give me a lot: experience, confidence. It showed me that I was on the right path, so I will continue in the right way.'

Meanwhile the six-time Grand Slam winner Boris Becker commented on the new working relationship between the defending Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber and her new coach Rainer Schuttler. 'Rainer is a top guy, I always asked myself why no female or male player had approached him,' Becker said. 'He brings all the qualities that a top coach has. He is absolutely perfect. He and Angie Kerber fit well in terms of their mentalities and characters.' At the end of the day, however, Becker believes that is Kerber, who as the player needs to figure out things for herself. 'She only needs to exactly know what she wants.'
