Report: Abu Dhabi put $70 million on table to host ATP Finals

40 cities from all over the world have shown their interest to host the ATP Finals in London, and only three-four of them will be picked among the list of final candidates. As reported by the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Abu Dhabi is said to have put on the plate $70 million to host the men's year-end tennis tournament in 2021. The Arab city currently hosts the Mubadala World Tennis Championship that will feature top stars like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams late this month.

London itself, that has been hosting the ATP Finals since 2009 and will keep hosting it until 2020, Tokyo, Singapore and definitely another big European city are interested. In the mix there is Italy as well, the country already hosts the Masters 1000 tournament in Rome on clay and the NextGen ATP Finals in Milan on indoor hard. Now Turin is interested at the ATP Finals. Earlier this week, on Monday and Tuesday, ATP authorities came to Turin to look at the city and at the Pala Alpi Tour, that would host the matches. Ross Hutchins, who is very close to the ATP CEO Chris Kermode, Vice-President David Massey and the marketing chief George Ciz have even met the City Mayor Appendino. 'Torino did a great figure', assured the Rome Open Tournament Director Sergio Palmieri. 'The ATP did not know the city, but they have taken a great impression of it and they have no doubts about the venues and the overall offer anymore. Now it's up to them to decide.'

The Italian organizers hope that ATP considers the whole scenario, including the amazing city, and not only the economical offer that might be less than the other world cities.
