Roger Federer not on Google Top Searches in Switzerland this year

In 2017 Roger Federer was the most searched personality in Switzerland, topping the Islam scientist Tariq Ramadan and his tennis player colleague Stan Wawrinka. In contrary, this year football dominated the way. The most searched Swiss personalities this year have been Xherdan Shaqiri ahead of Vladimir Petkovic and Valon Behrami. The first woman Lara Gut-Behrami ranked on fourth place. Federer did not even get in the top 10. Adela Smajic, Tariq Ramadan and football stars Yann Sommer, Granit Xhaka, Bréel Émbolo and Ivan Rakitic instead made it.

Federer is not on the first global ten trends of Google either. The list is led by Tristan Thompson. The NBA star of Cleveland Cavaliers is married to Khloe Kardashian. On the podium there are Alexis Sanchez and Lindsey Vonn. Federer is not alone, as Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic did not make it either. The highest ranked tennis star is Naomi Osaka, seventh. The Japanese defeated Serena Williams in a controversial US Open final. Story by Blick.

Federer always said that his children love playing sports, including swimming. Sport24 interviewed the former champion Lucia Allárovà who is the teacher of Roger's two daughters, nine-year-olds Myla and Charlene. 'It's such an honour for me, and I am happy that it worked', said Lucia.

For the first hour, even the famous father came. He shook my hand and he told me: "Hi I am Roger Federer". If was funny, because all the tennis fans know him. I was also 100% sure that Mirka was there."

Federers's daughters often read Slovakian stories on the grounds while their father plays tennis. That's why they speak Slovakian during the swimming lessons. 'I always ask them in what language they want to speak, and they choose Slovakian.'

At the moment the four-year-olds Federer's boys, Leo and Lenny, only play tennis, but Lucia is confident that they will soon turn to swim as well.
