Marco Cecchinato reveals the most expensive thing he has bought
In an interview to Il Tennis Italiano the world No. 18 Marco Cecchinato revealed what was the most expensive thing he has bought after earning around $600,000 by reaching the French Open semifinals. 'I gave a jewel to my girlfriend. And then a holiday at the Maldives', said Cecchinato.
Tattoos are popular with tennis players. How many does Cecchinato have? 'Three: the No. 13 that for many people is a sign of bad luck but, being superstitious, I think it's good. It was not by chance that I cracked the top 100 rankings winning a match on Friday 17. The second one features my initials, the third one has a kiss draw.'
Cecchinato also said that for him the Davis Cup will be a priority. Italy faces India in early February away from home on grass, and Cecchinato himself, Fabio Fognini, Andreas Seppi and Matteo Berrettini seem the favourites to be picked by the captain Corrado Barazzutti. 'After many years we have a very competitive team on all the surfaces. It was probably 40 years that Italy did not have two top 20 players. Fognini and I play better on clay, Berrettini and Seppi on grass, and we are all competitive on hard. We do not have to underestimate the tie against India but then in the final stage preparing to win would be beautiful. Playing at the best of three sets and never at home will be strange. But we are just focused on doing well.'
