Murray becoming Nick Kyrgios' coach would be the best thing - Woodbridge
The former world No. 1 doubles player Todd Woodbridge believes that Andy Murray could become a Nick Kyrgios's coach in the future. The British player loves tennis and you could see how sad he was to announce his retirement from the professional tour. Kyrgios has not really been having a coach for years and in an interview Woodbridge suggested Andy and Nick, who are great friends off-court, could be an amazing duo. “There will be a point I think where [Kyrgios] reaches out to someone like that, and if that happens that would be the best thing", said Woodbridge. "It took Murray a long time to get to that point as well. He had a good team around him but [Ivan] Lendl was the one extra person to take him to the next level. That would be a great thing to see from Kyrgios if he at some point did do that. Those guys would probably work well together. There would be a bit of an understanding from Andy about what Nick is going through. I think [Murray] maybe sees a little bit of himself in him at times from his youth, from where he was.”
On Milos Raonic, who is Kyrgios's first round opponent at the Australian Open, Woodbridge added: “It’s not a great draw, however I think if he you were going to get a tough draw it’s a winnable one for [Kyrgios] in terms of match-ups. They’ve played against each other before and it’s a match-up style that I know Nick can handle. [There will be] short points, a lot of big serving and it’s going to come down to Nick getting his racquet on a few extra returns.”
