Not playing too many matches is going to catch up with Roger Federer - Cash

1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash believes that Roger Federer having a light schedule is not good for him when it makings to make a difference in crutch moments. After Federer's loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Australian Open, speaking on Eurosport Cash said: "Roger had a bit of an off day and at the age of 37 he’s not playing as many matches as he has been, it’s going to catch up with him. It’s not how he moves; he’s still moving great. It’s the fact that he’s not playing under this pressure all the time and you’re going to get a little rusty and miss a few shots

On Tsitsipas's keys to win, Cash added: “I think the serve kept him in it, his was a bit patchy in the first few sets. It was only around 50, mid 50s, a little over 50 per cent. But in the final set, when it looked like his legs… he got a massage on his legs – I don’t know how that’s ever allowed but he felt he was tired, he served really well and the interesting thing is that he kept coming forward, he wasn’t scared to volley. He’s got a very good volley, he’s 6ft4, he’s got a big reach and he’s got pretty good technique on his volleys. And Federer I think hit only one proper passing shot in the whole match and that’s very unusual for Federer."
