Novak Djokovic to end season as world No. 1, says Rod Laver

Who will end the season as a world No. 1 on the ATP Rankings? The Australian legend Rod Laver answered this question through Twitter. 'Novak Djokovic - he's playing well. He's over his tennis elbow and he's prepared to put the effort in.'

The most promising Next Generation player? 'Probably Alex De Minaur - he's a tough player. He's great at being able to find a way to beat an opponent. The other one is Denis Shapovalov.'

His favourite Laver Cup highlight? Roger and Rafa play doubles together.'

Who would he have liked to face among the current players? 'Roger at Wimbledon. Not comment on the outcome!'

Who would win an arm wrestle between Laver and Muscles? 'If you are talking left-handed, I'm going to say I would win! Maybe he could catch me on the right side.'

Laver believes that achieving the Calendar Grand Slam can be made: 'It's possible that a Grand Slam can be won again. There are a lot of good players coming up that will continually improve. Fitness is one area and the discipline to get ready for each tournament, - the competition now is much tougher.'

On Alexander Zverev's up and down, Laver wrote: 'It's difficult to know. He's certainly capable. Probably the preparation, but he's certainly capable of doing well at any of the Grand Slams.'
