Novak Djokovic was born to overcome limits, says former coach

In an interview to Glass Rpsthe, former Serbia's Davis Cup team captain Bogdan Obradovic commented on Novak Djokovic's comeback to the top of tennis. The Serbian player won the last three Grand Slams after going through a major elbow injury. "This man was born to overtake the limits", said Obradovic. "We were all worried last year, but he soon fixed everything, closed his mouth and cameback to his place. He is the greatest player on Tour, no reason or unhappiness killed his love for the game and the competition. I think he now appreciates the game, he feels free, he stops thinking about his body and injuries. He became unbelievable, but he recovered a lot, he has to thank his team. Melbourne certainly has a special place in his heart and makes him emotional.'

On the next generation' potential, Obradovic, who worked with Djokovic when the current 15-time Major winner was at the beginning of his career, added: 'They showed a lot, especially Stefanos Tsitsipas who defeated Roger Federer, but they still lack "something special". Karen Khachanov, Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev and Tsitsipas make you enjoy a lot, but they have to start winning something big. Otherwise, it will quickly end up like Milos Raonic, Kei Nishikori, Grigor Dimitrov and others, who reached the quarter-finals or semifinals without managing to win the biggest title.'

Djokovic will play the BNP Paribas Open next in Indian Wells.
