Pat Cash calls Nick Kyrgios Donald Trump of Tennis

In an interview to Sen Sa Breakfast, the 1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash commented on Nick Kyrgios's controversial behaviour. Cash made an interesting comparison between the world no. 52 and the United States President Donald Trump. “He is an unbelievable talent, whether you like his personality or no," said Cash. "What he brings to the tennis court, it’s hard to take your eye off him. He is almost like the Donald Trump, isn’t he, of tennis, the things he does and says, you think, this guy is an idiot. He actually can produce some unbelievable stuff. It’s a bit maddening, you think, why can’t he do that and be normal for a while. That’s just his character."

Kyrgios will open his campaign in Melbourne against the former world no. 3 Milos Raonic. Cash added: “He is always going to be a headline. I think one of the concerning issues is he just struggles to put a few serious matches together. He is great for one or two or three, but when it comes to digging deep regularly in five set matches, he is getting better but is isn’t really anywhere near what he should be. He borders from fantastic to totally disrespectful.”

Kyrgios achieved his best result in the tournament in 2015, losing to Andy Murray in the quarter-finals.
