Rafael Nadal has played the best tennis so far, says Jim Courier

Jim Courier spoke highly of Rafael Nadal in an interview to Eurosport with Mats Wilander. The former American player was impressed by the 17-time Major winner who won all the 15 sets played so far. 'He is in a really good place because he is feeling comfortable with his body', said Courier. 'He felt something in his leg at Brisbane, he was conscious that he did not want to make any damage before the Aus Open because last year he had that unfortunate match with Cilic as he had to stop with an injury and he was not able to play a lot of hard-court events after that. He is looking pretty strong, the best tennis in the tournament on the men's side.'

Courier also commented on Stefanos Tsitsipas's potential: 'I totally agree that he is unafraid. He is looking forward to be looking in the moment, he is like a flyer, there is so much versatility in his game.'

Alex Corretja praised Rafael Nadal after his straight-set win over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Australian Open semi-finals. Speaking on Eurosport, Corretja said: 'He has been playing very aggressive, he is close to the baseline, he is serving better, he puts so much pressure on the return of his opponent's second serve.'

Asked if he expected Tsitsipas to go so far in Melbourne, Corretja replied: 'I thought it was a little bit early, but I thought this player was already very good with big potential but I am impressed with the way he has been handling the situations especially after he beat Roger. Because you beat Federer and then the next day you play Bautista Agut, a long match, hot condition, but he came very strong and he is playing one of the nicest games on the Tour.'

In the men's singles final on Sunday, Nadal, however, lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-3. This was Djokovic's 15th Grand Slam and seventh Australian Open title.
