Roger Federer looked like a junior against Stefanos Tsitsipas - Ivanisevic

In an interview to The Tennis Podcast, the 2001 Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic praised 20-year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas a lot.

After the world no. 15's win over Roger Federer at the Australian Open, Ivanisevic said: 'I love the guy. I am very impressed with the guy, he is for me the best young player by far. Maybe Zverev is better ranked but Tsitsipas is the better player. He has heart, he is not scared to hit the ball, come in, the way he handled Roger, it looked like Roger was a junior. It was unbelievable. He is definitely a future world No. 1. He put himself to be one of the top ten players soon. He is not that young coming up guy anymore, he is gonna feels more and more pressure but he is handling the pressure very well and he has this Greek temperament.

I like him, it's really really nice. He is positive, which you need to be. I love to watch. I think sometimes he is gonna break his back, but if he manages to handle it in the future, he is gonna be very good. You have to be ready for the moment, otherwise you cannot be world no. 1 and win Grand Slam titles. He is enjoying, he was world No. 1 junior, last year he had a breakthrough beating Novak and showing the world he is gonna come very soon.'

Tsitsipas lost in the semi-final to Rafael Nadal who schooled him in his 6-2, 6-4, 6-0 win. Nadal will play Novak Djokovic in the final on Sunday. Djokovic, a six-time former champion, defeated Lucas Pouille in an equally one-sided semi-final, 6-0, 6-2, 6-2.
