Serena Williams and Roger Federer should practice together - Mats Wilander

Mats Wilander believes that not making a difference in the key moments was the reason why Roger Federer and Serena Williams lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas and Karolina Pliskova respectively, at the Australian Open. Speaking on Eurosport about Serena's next plans, Wilander said: 'I do not know if she goes to the practice court, she is close enough. She may go to the practice court with Roger Federer, to figure out how to play better in the bigger points. If we rememeber early in the tournament Roger said, "I need to play better in the important moments". And Serena would give you the same answer. She is a great fighter and she will be back.'

Wilander gave an interesting insight on Serena Williams's loss to Karolina Pliskova at the Australian Open. On one of her four match points, the linesman called a foot fault on Serena's first serve which meant she had to hit a second serve. If that had not happened, the 23-time Major winner may have won the match, said Wilander. 'Because of Serena Williams's level in the third set, Pliskova felt she had to keep the ball away from Serena, she had the chance to get back and she did,' said Wilander. 'Of course, Serena feels she should have done something different but that foot fault on match point - I would love to see it the right camera angle - I do not doubt the umpire but the first foot fault of the match on the match point, that's weird.'
