Tsitsipas vs Federer was the most entertaining Aus Open match - Wilander

Mats Wilander relived the 2019 Australian Open highlights after Novak Djokovic's win over Rafael Nadal in the championship clash. 'There were so many. We could anticipate it was a great tournament both on the men's and women's side. The arrival of the new faces, that finally presented themselves in Majors. Stefanos Tsitsipas against Roger Federer, this match was probably the most entertaining one in the tournament', said Wilander. 'He was the most entertaining player of the tournament, it wasn't expected but the way he played. He suddenly overtook Roger Federer in the shots selection, and the one-handed backhand was so much fun. A new star has arrived.'

He also added: 'Andy Murray excelled in the first round against Roberto Bautista Agut, it was so emotional and great. Murray played well. Bautista Agut was ran out of gas, and in the first round Murray affected the Spaniard's tournament. Alex De Minaur also was great. Frances Tiafoe had so much pressure on his shoulder and he got to the quarter-finals for the first time. He has shown some different winning celebrations with a lot of confidence and he is a good player. The arrival of the new players is so welcome for us on Tour.'

On Nadal's new serve motion, his coach Carlos Moya said: 'He’s not 20 years-old any more, so his game had to evolve and I think the way he’s playing I haven’t seen it before on him. We’ve been working on that, but we’ve been working on that since I arrived, so it doesn’t mean that and straight away you can play that way. It takes a while, also he has to be confident to execute that plan, and now he is. He is being confident and he is being able to do it. We know we have to go match by match, but in the end he is Nadal and you always believe that he will have a chance to do well.’
