Murray was the only one competing against Federer, Nadal, Djokovic - Toni

In an interview to Cadena Ser, Rafael Nadal's uncle Toni commented on Andy Murray's possible retirement from tennis. Earlier this month the Brit underwent new hip surgery to have a better quality life and maybe playing tennis again. "For tennis lovers, Murray is a great player not just for winning three Grand Slams but he was the only one who really competed with (Roger) Federer, (Novak) Djokovic and Rafael. He was always there, very close to them. Funnily enough, before going through all these issues, he had his best year, he was world No. 1 playing at a high level. If he can recover, it would be good. It's not easy because hip issues are complicated, several high-level players were forced to retire and hopefully, it's not the case", said Toni.

Toni also spoke about the system of the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor: "The priority is to study and play tennis. Rafael remembered that as a kid he had to travel 50kms to go to Palma de Mallorca and then studying. In this centre, he wanted to offer advantages like education and sports. It will not be easy to have many players becoming professional, everyone has his way. We will try to make the kids' experience here not being a loss of time, and instead, they can see it as an improvement. The sports can teach you to fight, commit, overcome difficulties, knowing that things will not be easy. All this helps you in your personal shape. Helping people become good players and if they do not make it, being good in life in a professional environment or in abroad universities like the ones in the United States. The thing that makes me proud is that they are super careful, I am happy that coaches are always willing to help."
