Roger Federer reveals how many clay-court tournaments he may play

Roger Federer gave some important updates about his short-term schedule. A few weeks ago his coach Severin Luthi had said that Federer will play just one clay-court tournament in preparation to the French Open, but the world No. 6 said it may be two. “I‘m currently in Switzerland before I will travel to Dubai for preparation and practice. I‘m doing the build-up here but I am happy I can spend time with family here. After Dubai I will play Indian Wells, Miami and thereafter one or two clay tournaments prior to the French Open", said the 37-year-old.

Federer also reflected on the three tournament editions: "Laver Cup in America was different, the Czech Republic was different. I know the Geneva crowd, and I know it’s going to be incredible and different again."

On Nadal's appearance, Federer concluded: "I know that Rafa’s going to be on Team Europe and it makes me more confident knowing he is going to be there. He is a great guy, super professional, a great team player, a natural leader. He fits in the team super-nice and gives great energy and motivation."
