Hyeon Chung set to return to action at Miami Masters

Rising South-Korean star Hyeon Chung is ready to return to competitive action.

The 22-year-old took to Twitter to announce that he will play at the upcoming Miami Open

"Hi all, It’s been a while. I really missed you as I have been working hard to recover from injuries. I’m back and hope to see you at Miami," Chung announced on Twitter.

Chung last played at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, where he suffered a first round defeat against Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili.

The South-Korean then picked up three consecutive tournament withdrawals as he pulled out of the Open 13 Provence in Marseille, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

Chung, ranked at No. 63 in the world, is set to make his fifth consecutive appearance at the Miami Masters

The 22-year-old's career-best result at the Miami event came last year, when he reached the quarter-final.

In the remaining three Miami appearances, the South-Korean twice lost in the first round and once made the second round respectively.

Chung will be hoping to replicate last year's success in Miami as he hasn't had a great start to the season.

The former world No. 19 has won one and lost three matches so far this year.

The 22-year-old's lone win of this season came at Melbourne Park, when he beat American Bradley Klahn in the Australian Open first round before he lost to Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

The second Masters 1000 event of the season is due to kick off in Miami on March 20.
