No one really knows what will happen with Maria Sharapova - Chakvetadze
In a recent interview, former world No. 5 Anna Chakvetadze commented on Maria Sharapova's small right shoulder procedure. The five-time Grand Slam winner will miss both Indian Wells and Miami events and she is set to compete at the Stuttgart Open next in late April. "It's difficult to predict something now", said Chakvetadze. "It looks like the surgery was not that serious. But Masha still had a meaningful break during her injuries. Athletes do not usually like to undergo surgery. But if it helps, you need to do it. This year Andy Murray underwent a surgery. Masha has an old injury that may not have allowed her to give her best and show another level of the game, without getting the success we were all waiting for. Masha does not know where to go. If you look at Venus and herself, you can play until 37-38 years. I do not know how Maria is ready for that mentally. It looks like that after 30 it's difficult to be back, especially following an injury. But tennis players miracously comeback. Masha will now do a nice break. Chakvetadze commented on Nick Kyrgios's behaviour during and after his second round match win over Rafael Nadal at the Mexican Open in Acapulco. The Australian player was claimed as a disrespectful guy by the Spaniard, who lost in the third set tie-break. "There are some people who stand out from the others", said Chakvetadze. "Unfortunately, not so much for their game and talent, but for bad behaviour. Nadal is a person and athlete who does not do a lot on the court: he does not throw rackets, he always treats respectfully his opponent after the match. Kyrgios is the opposite. He is very impulsive on court, he does not manage to calm down for a long time. He clears himself on social media. Emotions overwhelm him so that he cannot always evaluate the situation in a proper way. But he is incredibly talented. Probably, the character helped him to be in the positions he is now at. Another point: you have to grow a little bit. If he improves, he can be one of the best players."
