Novak Djokovic has a good chance to win French Open over Nadal - Rod Laver

The Australian legend Rod Laver believes that Novak Djokovic is likely to win his fourth Grand Slam in a row at this year's French Open. Rafael Nadal looks to be the favourite to win his 12th crown on clay in Paris, but Djokovic had a stunning opening to the season just defeating the Spaniard in a dominant final in Melbourne. “He’s got a good chance to do it. He played so unbelievably well against Nadal in the Australian Open. I’m thinking, ‘How can anybody do that?", said Laver in an interview to The Desert Sun.

On the players' longevity, Laver added: “Maybe they don’t play as much. But they sure are able to play their best when it counts. It’s amazing that they all are able to play the tennis that they have, and last as long as they have as well.”

Mark Woodforde, a 12-time Grand Slam doubles winner, concluded: "Our sport used to be about the teenage phenoms that arrived. If you weren’t, say by mid-20s, winning tournaments (with) a slam under your belt, you were kind of a part of the past, not the future.”

Djokovic could hold all the four Major titles at the same time for the second time in his career after 2015-2016.

The Serb won the French Open for the first time in his career in 2016 defeating Andy Murray in the final. That was Novak's ultimate point in career.
