Novak Djokovic wants to reach Roger Federer's 100 career-titles - Rusedski

Speaking on Amazon Prime, the former world No. 4 Greg Rusedski commented on Novak Djokovic possibly overtaking the Roger Federer's number of Indian Wells titles. Both of them have won five titles each in the tournament. “Djokovic wants to win this first six times, something Federer hasn’t done", said Rusedski. "Both men have won it on five occasions here in Indian Wells and 33 Masters Series titles sounds exceptionally good. Roger has just made the 100 marker and Novak wants to make the 100 marker in titles as well. He is motivated and he loves playing in the desert. I saw him playing in the doubles with [Fabio] Fognini and he looked fabulous. He is focused and he is ready. Yes, you’d like to see the coach here but if he is comfortable and confident, he’s a hard man to stop.”

On Djokovic playing doubles in Indian Wells, Daniela Hantuchova added: “I thought that was a smart decision. It’s what a lot of the top players do here because it is so beautiful to come here. He hasn’t played for such a long time and the conditions are completely different to anything he has experienced in the last few weeks. He looked really sharp on the court."

Rusedski also praised Federer and the Big 3: "It is unbelievable because we are talking about this generation being the best ever. You got Murray, Djokovic, Nadal and to have 100 titles is unbelievable. We might not see this in our lifetime again. That’s how good it is what Federer accomplished. But to catch that man at the top, Jimmy Connors, it is going to be difficult but it is something he can possibly do.”
