World No. 6 Jamie Murray wins first Challenger doubles title since 2013
Former doubles world No. 1 Jamie Murray has won his first Challenger doubles title since 2013.
No. 1 seeds Murray and Neal Skupski came from a set down to beat USA's Austin Krajicek and Kiwi Artem Sitak in the Arizona Challenger doubles final 6-7 (2) 7-5 10-6.
Murray and Skupski started the match in style, having broken second-seeded Krajicek and Sitak in the opening game of the match.
Murray and Skupski had a chance to go up by double break but failed to convert a break point in the seventh game.
They paid a price for not realizing their break point chance as Krajicek and Sitak broke back in the eighth game to make it all tied at 4-4.
Murray and Skupski blew three more break points in the ninth game, before the first set went into a tie-break -- which Krajicek and Sitak dominated to steal the opener.
Murray and Skupski made a good start to the second set as well, having taken an early 3-0 lead.
Murray and Skupski failed to serve out for the set in the ninth game but broke Krajicek and Sitak in the 12th game to force a decider.
The turning point of the match tie-break was when Murray and Skupski won five points in a row to take a commanding 7-2 lead.
Krajicek and Sitak saved the first two match points but that was all as the top seeds converted their third match point to claim the title.
Murray and Skupski won 80 percent of their first serve points, converted 3-of-7 of their break point chances and saved 3-of-5 of Krajicek and Sitak's break point opportunities in an hour and 45 minutes of play.
Two-time Grand Slam men's doubles champion Murray was playing a Challenger tournament for the first since the 2013 Nottingham Challenger.
Back then, Murray won it all in Nottingham with Australian John Peers.
Also, doubles world No. 6 Murray was playing alongside Skupski for the first time ever.
