Alex de Minaur expected to return to action at Estoril Open

Rising Australian star Alex de Minaur appears to be set to return to competitive action. 

The 20-year-old hasn't played since the Indian Wells Masters as he has been recovering from a groin issue. ​

The Australian, who had a first round bye in Indian Wells, suffered a surprise second round loss against American Marcos Giron in his opener at the tournament. 

De Minaur, ranked at No. 26 in the world, then pulled out of the Miami Masters due to a groin issue. 

Luckily, the 21-year-old should play at the Estoril event as planned. 

De Minaur, who debuted at the Estoril Open last year, is set to make back-to-back appearances at the Portuguese ATP 250 clay event. 

In his debut appearance, the Australian beat home-favorite Gastao Elias in the first round before he lost to fellow rising star Kyle Edmund in the round-of-16. 

De Minaur hasn't had a great start to the season, having been limited to only five tournaments so far this year. 

It remains to be seen how will de Minaur perform in Estoril as he hasn't played in a month and a half.
