Bianca Andreescu reacts to Kerber calling her drama queen
Bianca Andreescu played down all the buzz around her opponent Angelique Kerber calling her a "Drama Queen" at the net after their match at the Miami Open. Andreescu defeated Kerber for the second time in a row over less than a week having previously triumphed in the Indian Wells final. "The match was balanced, it was 2:00 AM. She had lost to me earlier and she lost again there. These things happen in the heat of the match and I'd rather not enter in this debate. It's something I already overcome," said the Canadian in an interview to The National.
On her next goals, Andreescu added: "In my eyes, I would maybe want to crack the top 15 and do very well in the Grand Slams."
Andreescu feels confident about the future: "I think I'm really at the top of my game right now. It's different playing the challenger level tournaments and the juniors. I did have a lot of success in that, too, but it's different because I'm playing against top-level players. I think if I can continue doing this, gaining more and more experience, playing throughout these tournaments, then I think it only gets better from here."
On her countryman, Felix Auger-Aliassime's success, she concluded: "He's been doing really well throughout his whole career, really. He's such a hard worker. I see him in the gym all the time, on the court, working hard. It's really nice to be around that, because that also gives me a lot of motivation, too. He's a really big hitter. And if he keeps improving his game, he can be really, really good."
