Laver Cup could take place in London in 2021

Initially, Roger Federer's thought about the Laver Cup was to make it take place in the Grand Slam venues. So far it has not happened as in 2017 the event was hosted in Prague and in 2018 in Chicago, while this year it will move to Geneva. And the trend seems to continue as Boston, United States, is set to host it in 2020.

In 2021 the Laver Cup will be back in Europe and the city chosen could be London. 'We've been contacted by several great European cities that are interested in hosting in 2021 and beyond. With the move of the ATP Finals to Turin we would certainly want to consider London among the European destinations once we begin the selection process', the Roger Federer's agent Tony Godsick, who co-founded the Laver Cup with the Swiss, told Daily Mail.

A spokesperson of the Lawn Tennis Association confirmed it may be a chance. 'The LTA believes events play an important role in increasing visibility of our sport and inspiring people to pick up a racket,' it said. 'Alongside our successful series of grass court tournaments, we will continue to look for opportunities to stage events at other times of the year.'

The expert Cliff Drysdale commented on the ATP Chief Executive Chris Kermode's departure and how the Player's Council president Novak Djokovic may have a played a role on it. "I don't know what [Djokovic's] motive is in this whole conflagration, but I'm a great fan of his and I have a great deal of respect for his intellect", said Drysdale in an interview to ESPN. "To shake things up sometimes is not a bad thing. On the other hand, I've never heard anything bad at all about Kermode."

On the ATP Finals leaving London for Turin, Drysdale added: "You have there [the O2] a venue and event that's working and profitable and is a great showcase for the game. I never did understand this compulsion to move things around. If it ain't broke, don't fix it
