Only injuries could prevent Rafael Nadal from winning on clay - Panatta

In an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 1976 French Open winner Adriano Panatta was asked who could win the Rome Open. "Rafael Nadal is always the favourite", said the Italian. "We will see how he plays in Monte Carlo if he is dealing with injuries, which can be his only problem because on clay he is stronger than everybody."

On the goals of his favourite team, AS Roma, for the season, Panatta added: "Hopefully they reach the fourth place, which is the minimum. We are one point away from Milan, it will be a battle until the last race."

On the Italian tennis, Panatta added: "There are two guys who play well, one is Jannik Sinner and the other is Lorenzo Musetti. Hopefully, coaches will work well with them and they are two interesting guys."

In an interview, Nadal commented on the opening of his new tennis center in Cancun, Mexico. The Spaniard said: "Our idea was always to grow and we want to have 4-5 centres in tourist cities, in Cancun we have eight clay-courts, a gym, all the facilities needed in a club, it's designed in a similar way to the Academy. Our goal is to offer a service to all the people of the area and also the ones who come in the resort as tourists. In Mexico I always felt loved, I felt close to the people here. We are lucky to be supported by some of the biggest companies in the world, and also One of my biggest companies in Spain (Movistar). But the personal relationship is the thing that makes a difference."

Nadal also said that tennis stays a priority for him: "I am a tennis player, I have to train every day, compete, so I have limited time. I have to travel. On some days of the year, I get forces with the companies that always helped and supported me but I do not have a lot of room to add other deals. But we always try to be in different sectors and sectors that make us feel comfortable and companies that we really like."
