Roger Federer, Nadal, Djokovic are still the best at their top - Wawrinka

In an interview with Tages Anzeiger, Stan Wawrinka reflected on the clashes between older and younger players. The Swiss player said: "We have two young generations. The Next Gen with guys like Tiafoe, Shapovalov or De Minaur. And then the one with Thiem, Zverev, Kyrgios, who are already a bit older. The big question mark is: when will one of them become a Grand Slam winner? It will happen soon. Maybe this year. But at the Moment it's like this: if Roger, Rafa and Novak are at 100 per cent, they are still too strong. But you also see that these three are not always at their best."

Who will be the first to have success? "Thiem and Zverev are some steps ahead of the others. They have been at the top for some years. I always thought Zverev would be the first. But so far he struggled in the Grand Slams. If he makes a breakthrough, beating him will be difficult. If I have to choose, I take Zverev."

Who likes the most out of the new generation? "I like Tiafoe a lot. I like to see him playing well. I like De Minaur as well. He is a player with many qualities."
