Bernard Tomic ends French Open campaign with odd press conference
Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic didn't seem to be in the mood to talk to reporters after his French Open first round loss to rising American star Taylor Fritz.
Fritz, ranked at No. 42 in the world, put up a dominant performance to beat 84th-ranked Tomic as he claimed a 6-1 6-4 6-1 win over the Australian.
When asked post-match what were the factors in his loss, Tomic simply replied: "Well, I didn't play good."
Tomic, who has never particularly enjoyed playing on clay, concludes his 2019 clay campaign with just two wins and eight losses.
When asked about playing on clay, former world No. 17 provided another short answer as he said: "Not for me."
Recently, Tomic's fellow compatriot Nick Kyrgios openly admitted he wasn't a fan of the French Open.
When a reporter acknowledged that Kyrgios recently said he didn't like the French Open at all, Tomic backed up his fellow compatriot by saying: "I agree (with Kyrgios)."
When asked about his upcoming plans, Tomic said: "I go to the hotel now."
