Gael Monfils keeps it classy after losing to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

French tennis star Gael Monfils kept it classy after losing to rising Spanish star Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. 

Monfils, 32, was edged out by the Spanish qualifier 6-7 (2) 7-5 6-4 in the Estoril Open quarter-final. ​

Davidovich Fokina recovered from an early break down and even had three set points on Monfils' serve in the 10th game but failed to convert. 

The third-seeded Frenchman broke the Spaniard in the 11th game but failed to serve out for the opener as the first set went into a tie-break.

The 19-year-old led 2-1 after the opening three points but then Monfils won six points in a row claim the opener. 

The Spaniard blew an early second set break but broke the Frenchman once again in the 11th game before he managed to successfully serve out for the set in the following game. 

Monfils twice recovered from a break down in the third set but Davidovich Fokina kept his focus as he broke the Frenchman for the third time in the ninth game before he served out for the match in the 10th game. 

Monfils was playing his first tournament on clay this season.
