Borna Coric bids farewell message to Marcos Baghdatis

Croatian rising star Borna Coric says Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis is a tennis legend as he wishes the 34-year-old nothing but the best in his retirement days. 

On Monday, former world No. 8 Baghdatis announced that Wimbledon would be the last tournament of his career. 

Last week, Wimbledon announced its 2006 semifinalist Baghdatis as a wildcard winner.

The news about Baghdatis receiving a wildcard came as a bit of surprise as many suspected the Cypriot asked for a wildcard and received one because he wanted to retire at The Championships.

The Cypriot captured four titles in singles and one in doubles respectively. 

"Congrats on the amazing career Marcos Baghdatis. You are a legend of our sport. Enjoy retirement and spend as much time with your girls. Hope to see all of you soon," Coric said on Twitter. 

Meanwhile, Coric is preparing for his Wimbledon campaign.

The Croatian suffered a scare last week in Halle as he was forced to retire his quarterfinal clash.

However, world No. 14 Coric expects to be ready for the third Grand Slam of the season.
