Andy Murray and Feliciano Lopez set to play doubles again in...
In a press conference on Monday at the Citi Open in Washington, ahead of his first-round doubles match with his brother Jamie, Andy Murray gave an update on his next plans. Murray said he will play doubles again with Feliciano Lopez next week at the Rogers Cup in Montreal. They have won the Queen's title a month-and-a-half ago, that tournament marked Andy's comeback to competition. Murray also said he plans to play doubles and mixed doubles at the US Open, otherwise in the best scenario he may compete in singles, which he last did earlier this year in the Australian Open.
Meanwhile, in an interview to The Telegraph, hip specialist, Professor Max Fehily, warned it will take time for Murray to be in his best shape again: "He is ahead of schedule in his recovery, but may not be back to his full recovery for 12 to 18 months. We're six months into that recovery. When he had the surgery hopefully all the arthritic pain will have gone within a few days, but a lot of that soft tissue heeling takes up to 12 month. There is plenty of room for improvement, but he is beyond the early complication stage, where we might see an infection, nerve injury or blood clot. There is no doubt that this is making very good progress."
Murray also played doubles in Eastbourne losing in the opening round with Marcelo Melo, and mixed doubles and doubles at Wimbledon earlier this month.
