Federer-Nadal 2008 final better than 2019 Djokovic-Federer final: Ferrero
The former world No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero believes that the 2008 Wimbledon final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal was a bit better than 2019 one featuring Novak Djokovic and the Swiss. Speaking to Libertad Digital, Ferrero said: "In terms of pressure and making a real example, you had more pressure in the fourth set of 2008 final. Being Spaniards we also lived it closely as Nadal was there. But they have been the best finals over the last years. For me, 2008 would be the first, 2019 the second and the third is 2012 final in Australia with Djokovic and Rafa."
Alex Corretja said: "I do not like the debates and comparisons too much. The good thing is that we could have two finals. Also, they are different game styles. Back in the day, Rafa was not playing as aggressive as now. Djokovic serves better than Nadal... They are difficult to compare. We did not have a 12-all in the fifth set before. They are very comparable. For me, the best thing was that Novak would win so that Federer does not go too far from Rafa. They do not recognize it publicly, but I think each one is motivated by holding the Grand Slam titles record."
Nadal is enjoying holidays in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, Italy. A few days after his loss to Roger Federer in the Wimbledon semifinals, the Spaniard is enjoying some time at the sea. On Tuesday afternoon he played some golf for some hours. He ended the match with nine holes and he impressed some of the people who were there. He has an 8 handicap. Nadal is eating some good food in the best restaurants of the place and he is also visiting lakes. Will Smith was there too, he instead has a 19 handicap.
