Nicolas Jarry: Even if I don't win Bastad my first title will come one day
Chile's Nicolas Jarry will remain positive and optimistic even if he fails to fulfill his goal of winning a maiden ATP title this week.
Jarry, seeded at No. 5, saw off Federico Delbonis of Argentina 6-3 6-2 to make the Bastad final.
The 23-year-old is set to play his third ATP final.
The Chilean ended runner-up in Sao Paulo last year and Geneva this year respectively.
World No. 64 Jarry will fight against sixth-seeded Juan Ignacio Londero for the Bastad title.
"Yeah, I wish to (win my maiden title in Bastad). If it doesn't come tomorrow I know it will come some day. I'm happy to be in the third final of my career," Jarry said during his on-court interview after beating Delbonis.
"There are 32 guys wishing for it (the title) and I'm one of the last two."
Jarry and Londero are set to meet for the second time at the ATP level and for the fourth time overall.
Londero's winning run in Cordoba -- which came earlier this year -- included a first round win over Jarry.
In their two meetings at the Challenger level, Jarry defeated Londero in Quito five years ago and Montevideo two years ago respectively.
