Nicolas Massu: Austria can be proud of Dominic Thiem
Coach Nicolas Massu insists Austria can be "really proud" of his pupil Dominic Thiem .
World No. 4 Thiem is the highest ranked Austrian player and one of the top athletes from his country.
The Austrian is a 13-time ATP champion as he has never only won a title at the Grand Slam level.
The 26-year-old made a breakthrough at the Masters 1000 level earlier this year when he surprised Roger Federer in the Indian Wells final to lift his maiden Masters title.
Thiem was also a win away from winning the French Open for the past two years.
The Austrian picked up back-to-back French Open final losses against record 12-time champion Rafael Nadal.
"His (Thiem's) tennis is great. Austria can be really proud of him. He is not only a great tennis player but also a great personality," Massu told Laola1.tv, as revealed by Twitter user De Nela.
Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Thiem has made a positive start to his Hamburg campaign.
The Austrian beat experienced clay-court specialist Pablo Cuevas to set up a round-of-16 meeting against Marton Fucsovics of Hungary.
