Moritz Thiem: My development won't be as quick as Dominic Thiem's

Austria's MoritzThiem admits his development won't be as quick as Dominic Thiem's but insists he will give his best effort to make it in tennis.

Moritz Thiem, 19, has spent the majority of his season playing the ITF level events and recently also played at the Austrian Bundesliga.

The Austrian doesn't have a ranking on the ATP rankings list as he has yet to win his first ATP point.

Meanwhile, his brother Dominic Thiem has been a top player for a couple of years now as the 25-year-old world No. 4 is a 13-time ATP champion and back-to-back French Open runner-up.

"Dominic's career started at 20, that won't happen with me, I'm physically not that ready. I will give myself time, and I'm lucky that everyone supports me and I don't have pressure. But I have to give 100%, otherwise it wouldn't make sense," Moritz Thiem told LAOLA1.tv, as revealed by Twitter user De Nela.

Moritz Thiem debuted in the ATP qualifying over this past weekend after being granted a wildcard by the Kitzbuhel organizers.

The 19-year-old fought well against world No. 228 Elliot Benchetrit but his game fell apart after losing a tight opener as the Frenchman won 7-6 (4) 6-0.

Moritz Thiem also made his doubles debut at the ATP level after he and Dominic Thiem's coach Nicolas Massu received a wildcard into the tournament.

Moritz Thiem and Massu stood no chance against Hugo Dellien and David Vega Hernandez as they got beaten in their opener 6-3 6-2.
