In an interview to Tennis Magazine, Alexander Zverev recalled when the crowd booed him during his semi-final win over Roger Federer in the London ATP Finals. "The crowd was more for Federer and it will always be like that as long as he will be playing," said Zverev. "I didn't do anything wrong. I apologized despite I didn't have to. It's in the past. I won the tournament and that's all I remember."
Asked if he thinks he is too honest speaking to reporters, Zverev replied: "Players always give the same answers in press conference, especially when they lose. I say what I think, I give my opinion. When somebody beats me by playing very well I say it, as did when Chung beat me last year in Melbourne. The media thought that it was a bad loss, bu it wasn't the case. We saw it: he beat Novak Djokovic in the next round and reached the semi-finals. Everybody remembers my press conference when I lost in Toronto last year (after his loss against Stefanos Tsitsipas). I say things the way I perceive them, that's all. And I'll keep doing it."
Asked if he plans to play doubles with Mischa in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Zverev replied: "Oh yes! If his ranking is high enough to play, I'll make sure it happens. Competing in the Olympics with your big brother is unbelievable. I'll make sure that the German Federation knows that we are interested!"
